Stars, Stripes & PermaCrete!

The U.S. Army Quartermaster Museum called on PermaCrete when it came time to put a new surface on the floors of their heavily-trafficked facility! Museum Exhibit Specialist, Patrick Fisher, made the following statement in a recent interview with QSI Senior Account Executive, Greg Smith:

“ We have been using PermaCrete  products in our dioramas (scenic displays with three-dimensional figures against a painted background) for several years, and have been completely satisfied with the ease of application, the amount of detail PermaCrete offers, the fast set and cure  times of PermaCrete,  and the extensive PermaCrete color line that affords us the ability to color match various exhibits!”

The Quartermasters have a long history as being the supply line to all of our troops, here and overseas. Over the course of history, the Quartermasters have served as muleskinners, shoe repairmen, paymasters, depot operators, and many other capacities too numerous to mention here.  No other branch of the service can begin to rival the Quartermaster Corps for its diversity of tasks and the many functions provided.  This has been the case since 1775.

The museum’s exhibits trace the historical evolution of the Quartermaster Corps and its current and former mission.  Some of the missions portrayed may be familiar, such as search, identification and burial of the dead (Mortuary Affairs); food and rations (Subsistence); airdrop of supplies (Aerial Delivery); as well as general supply and petroleum and water.

The versatility, durability and proven performance of the PermaCrete installations have ensured that the Quartermasters can continue to maintain the quality appearance of the dioramas for the public’s benefit.  America’s military success is directly related to this great group of individuals. Next time you’re in Ft. Lee, Virginia, stop by the museum!
