Timely Application Tip for Pool Interiors

Pool Interior Matrix Mix CANNOT be applied over epoxy paint on a pool interior surface. The epoxy should be removed from the surface using a grinder with a diamond tip blade, or by shotblasting, or by sandblasting the surface. After the epoxy removal, clean the surface with Blue Nitro cleaner and use Clorox bleach to kill any mildew or bacteria previously left on the surface. Always be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly after cleaning.

Tech Tip - Protect Your Paint Sprayer

The following simple, yet important steps can help protect your airless paint sprayer and enchance your effectiveness on the job.

  • Filter sealer through a paint bag or other strainer prior to application to remove any particles and keep foreign matter out of the pump.
  • When spraying outdoors, keep the bucket covered to prevent airborne particles from entering your sealer source.
  • Always clean the sprayer when finished, especially if the sprayer will not be used for a while, or even overnight.
  • Make sure no water or any other fluids are left in the sprayer after cleaning.
  • Inspect and tighten the wet cup sufficiently to prevent leaking.
  • Be careful not to leave paint in the sprayer overnight.
  • Always store the sprayer with mineral spirits, or oil in the pump system.
