Quality Systems recently with great pride rolled out the red carpet and quite a few yellow ribbons to welcome back Major David Jungquist from nine months of active service in Iraq. Injured by a roadside bomb that blew up his Army Humvee in the last week of his tour of duty, David underwent surgery and then showed up for work in great shape and high spirits.

A clean and dry substrate is essential to proper installation of PermaCrete on any surface. This includes determining if the substrate is subject to hydrostatic pressure, which is water pressure up through the substrate that causes delamination; or, efflorescence, which causes discoloration or whitening from leaching of soluble salts via water through the substrate. | QUESTION: | Can PERMA·CRETE® be used to fill wide cracks that are the same depth as a concrete slab?
| | ANSWER: | If a crack is wider than 3/8" and through the slab, fill the crack from the bottom of the slab to within 1" of the surface with PERMA·CRETE® Matrix Mixture prior to repairing the crack. If the crack is 1/8" or 3/8" wide, fill the entire crack from the top to the bottom of the slab with Perma·Bond and coarse sand.
