PermaCrete Fire Resistance Tests |

Tests conducted by: Omega Point Laboratories, Inc.

A Douglas fir wood stud wall spaced 24" o.c. with 5/8" type X gypsum wallboard on the interior and exterior surfaces, uninsulated, clad on the exterior with the PermaCrete Surface Coating, produced, assembled and tested, successfully met the conditions of acceptance as outlined in ASTM Method E119-88 Fire Tests of Building Construction and Materials.
This test has demonstrated that the addition of the PermaCrete Surface Coating to a wall of known fire resistance will not result in a degradation or reduction in that wall's performance. Separate tests were performed with the fire exposure on both the interior and exterior surfaces. Both sides
of the wall design met the requirements of the hose stream test.
In general, manufacturers attempt to achieve a low Flame Spread Index and low Smoke Developed Index, when testing their material to the ASTM E84 Surface Burning Characteristics of Building Materials Test Standard. A classification system for Interior Finishes is provided by the 1994 Uniform Building Code.
