George Henderson is out to fill lots of the cracks in this old world.
Henderson is founder and president of Quality Systems, Inc., which manufactures and sells PermaCrete, a concrete resurfacing product.
"We just closed an exclusive for the entire United Kingdom with a company called United Driveways," Henderson said.
Quality Systems is already shipping to other parts of Europe, the Far East, South America, Canada, Mexico, Bermuda and parts of the Caribbean as well as throughout the United States.
Henderson, who worked in the construction business for more than 25 years, started the company in 1990 after searching for a product to resurface the area around his swimming pool.
He worked with 4 chemists for about two years to develop PermaCrete, an acrylic polymer cement compound.
PermaCrete is stronger than concrete, resists stains and chemicals, and withstands freeze-thaw cycles. It's available in any color and can simulate concrete, brick, stone, stucco or tile.
The product is sold through over 900 independent Dealers worldwide. Approximate base retail cost: $3 to $8 a square foot, depending upon the type application.
Henderson started the company with personal funds, all repaid. "It is completely debt free," he said. "Most companies have to take out a loan or arrange financing, especially for expansion, but our continued growth has subsidized all of our worldwide operations."
Henderson hopes to take the company public next year, raising needed capital for a stronger run at world markets.
