ICF – A Solid Growth Industry
In its 2005 ICF Report, Permanent Buildings & Foundations Magazine came to a definite conclusion: The ICF Industry is headed toward its biggest and best year ever." The magazine’s research determined that continuing increases in housing starts nation-wide coupled with the projection that mortgage interest rates will remain at a low level will present a definite opportunity for growth in the ICF market. ICF’s held a 4.0% segment of the above grade residential market in 2003, up from 3.8% in 2002.
The projected growth in the ICF industry can be attributed to several factors. With the increased cost of lumber and steel, ICF construction is now more competitive. Homeowners are seeking a more attractive, stronger building material and are particularly interested in the higher energy-efficiency offered by ICF. The fact that the decision to build with ICF’s is made by the homeowner 88% of the time calls attention to another key to the rapid growth of the ICF industry – getting the attention of builders themselves.
There is a continuing need to educate architects and builders about the advantages of ICF construction.
Quality Systems, Inc., recognizes that fact and is preparing to carry the ICF and PermaCrete
message straight to those groups of individuals. Dealers also have an obvious opportunity to deliver that message as well.
Dealers should identify architects and builders in their area and then inform them about the superior strengths and many advantages of PermaCrete.
Savvy builders in several areas of the country are constructing entire housing developments utilizing ICF.
For example, due to the recent ordeal with hurricanes in Florida, builders are now attracted to ICF construction for building stronger homes.
There is also a growing interest in ICF’s for light commercial construction due to the inherent strength, R-value, sound deadening,
mold resistance, and reduced maintenance qualities it provides. Bigger commercial projects are also turning to ICF, e.g.,
an 11–story condominium building in Ft. Myers, Florida.
Quality Systems, Inc., and PermaCrete Dealers are delighted to be a part of the very bright prospects for ICF construction.
There is no stronger, more durable, and esthetically pleasing surface material than installed PermaCrete. The message is clear. The product is right.
The opportunity for growth cannot be overlooked.
