Timely Application Tip for Pool Interiors

Pool Interior Matrix Mix CANNOT be applied over epoxy paint on a pool interior surface. The epoxy should be removed from the surface using a grinder with a diamond tip blade, or by shotblasting, or by sandblasting the surface. After the epoxy removal, clean the surface with Blue Nitro cleaner and use Clorox bleach to kill any mildew or bacteria previously left on the surface. Always be sure to rinse the surface thoroughly after cleaning.

Apply a skim coat with Pool Interior Matrix Mix to fill low spots and provide an even, smooth surface. Apply Perma•Prime E-Coat to the skim coat and allow it to get tack-free. Next, apply two (2) coats of Perma•Thane CRU-750, but make sure the first coat is tack-free before applying the second coat.

A third coat of Clear Perma Thane may be required, if there is intense UV radiation from the sun in the geographical area, e.g., in Hawaii. Allow Perma•Thane to cure a minimum of 72 hours before filling the pool with water.
