| QUESTION: | How can old epoxy paint be removed from a horizontal surface prior to applying PERMA·CRETE®?
|
| ANSWER: | Perma·Strip Remover can be used to remove resistant coatings such as epoxies, urethanes, and oil, latex, lead, and
acrylic paints. Removal time will depend on the type and thickness of the coating. NOTE: Use extreme caution when applying and disposing of Perma·Strip because of
its hazardous ingredients. Alternately, mechanical removal of previous coatings by sand blasting, scarifying, or shot blasting may also be used.
NOTE: Always clean the surface after chemical or mechanical coating removal by using Blue Nitro and pressure washing.

| QUESTION: | Should cement board (DuRock) be used to cover a plywood living room floor prior to the installation of PERMA·CRETE®?
|
| ANSWER: | Yes. Cement board should be installed on wood floors and securely attached by using Thinset and deck screws (or equivalents)
to the plywood floor. Weakness or flexibility in the floor, sub-floor, or floor joists should be corrected prior to the installation of cement board and PERMA·CRETE®.
The cement board should be level with no areas of flexibility or gaps between the floor surface and the cement board. A "thick" skim coat of Matrix Mix should be installed,
and Perma·Mesh Cloth should be troweled into the Matrix mixture for added strength and flexibility prior to the application of the final texture coat.

| QUESTION: | Can Perma·Seal Stain Sealer be applied over solvent-base Concrete Clear Sealer?
|
| ANSWER: | Concrete Clear Sealer is a solvent-base sealer that dries to a clear, abrasion resistant film. Since Perma·Seal Stain Sealer
is a water-base sealer, it cannot penetrate or adhere properly to the solvent-base sealer and may later delaminate from the surface.
|
| QUESTION: | Can Perma·Seal Stain Sealer be used on bare concrete? |
| ANSWER: | Yes, but the Stain Sealer must be applied after thoroughly cleaning the concrete surface with Blue Nitro Concrete Cleaner
and/or Orange Power Degreaser, if needed.
